Big Plans For 2022

It’s that time of year when we take time to reflect on the past year and set goals for the new year: All of those things we want to accomplish, whether it’s finally starting that virtual assistant business or a fitness program. We also call them new years resolutions. But I don’t like the term ‘new years resolutions’ because oftentimes new years resolutions are vague and unspecified. I testify to making new years resolutions that I haven’t followed through with several times over.

However, I have big plans for 2022.

Plan 1: Relaunch My History Blog

I ran a blog titled Crusades and Crusaders for a number of years. This blog chronicled the history of the Crusades, but life happened and I got so caught up in work and other things, I let it go. Over the past couple of months, I have had a burning desire to re-launch this blog, so in January I am going to do just that. However, it will no longer chronicle the history of the Crusades and I am going to rename it Everything Old History because I am going to cover the time span from the time of Christ until 1700 AD.

Plan 2: Build This Blog’s Audience Through Guest Blogging

Dare I admit in a world of negativity that a small part of me hopes earn a side income from this blog. In order to accomplish that, I have to build my audience. That involves posting amazing content regularly and also writing content for other bloggers. It all takes time and my free time is already limited, but I am willing to put in the effort regardless.

Plan 3: Relaunch De’s Garden Design as a Gardening Blog

In September, I created De’s Garden Design (www.desgardendesign.ca) with a goal to offer my services as a virtual garden designer. While I haven’t lost the desire to make garden design a part time career, I no longer wish to pursue it as a business. So, I am going to turn this website into a gardening blog where I will share my photos, designs, and experiences in the industry. I haven’t yet thought about building a readership so much as utilizing my knowledge to land a decent-paying gardening/landscaping job in the spring and summer months.

I’m not entirely sure how I am going to manage all of this since I am working full time and attending fitness classes three times a week, but I am super stoked about these blogs and I am determined to put in the effort. Where there is a will there is a way.
